PETA's unfortunate valentine's day offer
For a group who, supposedly, fights for equality takes it from it’s own kind. Making woman into animals dosen’t make animals into people.
Well said Chris.
To be frank, I was very caught off-guard by how horrible this ad campaign is. It is blatantly misogynistic and dehumanizing.
PETA is an organization that I have a longstanding dislike for. As a student of science, I believe in the betterment of humanity through ethical scientific research, which they stand in violent opposition to.
They work to proliferate ideas that are not only uniformed, but also dangerous. While PETA allegedly stands for the rights of animals and safety, they are responsible for promoting ideas that make is necessary for most labs across the country to be equipped with panic buttons that directly contact local SWAT teams.
They may not ‘officially’ promote violence toward ethical research groups, but their line of thought leads to inexcusable acts of violence toward men and women devoting their lives to making the world a better place through scientific research.
This ad just goes to show how desperate for attention this organization is. They are willing to demean women and promote violence toward women to ‘get a laugh’ and promote themselves. They are nothing more than a sexist and violent corporation masquerading as a peaceful NPO.
If you care about science, egalitarianism, safety and/or the ethical advancement of human knowledge, don’t ever support PETA. They are an example of violent fundamentalism in action.
